  1. How does Portero work?

    Portero provides an all-inclusive consignment process including: research, pricing, professional photography, description write-up payment, shipping and finalizing the sale of your items.

  2. What are Portero fees?

    Our listing fees for individual clients are as follows:

    • $25 per item listing
    • 30% of final sale price
    • There are no upfront fees. Fees only apply to items sold.
  3. What items does Portero accept?

    • Watches: Timepieces by Cartier, Breitling, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai and more.
    • Fine Jewelry: Tiffany & Co, Cartier, David Webb, Verdura, Kwiat, H. Stern, Seaman Schepps, Estate Collections and more.
    • Bags & Accessories: Handbags and Luggage by high-end designer brands such as Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Chloe and others; collectible pens, and vintage branded cufflinks and more.
    • Please call or send us an e-mail with the details of your item(s) including specifics such as brand, model, purchase price, style and age, in order for Portero to determine if we will accept your item. Portero may be unable to determine an accurate selling price prior to viewing the item as condition may greatly impact the value.

  4. How do I get my items to you?

    Your items must be shipped to our corporate offices. Please contact us 877-307-3767 so we can give you shipping information. If your item(s) is not consistent with Portero's accepted list of brands, or if the item is in poor condition, we will return these items at the seller's expense.

  5. Is there a fee if I want Portero to return my items?

    Once the listing process has started, Portero charges a $50 return fee for items returned before 60 days.

  6. If I ship my items to you, will you cover my fees?

    Portero will not cover the shipping cost of your items.

  7. Will my valuable items be insured by Portero?

    Portero will fully insure all items at their minimum re-sale value once they reach our facility.

  8. Will Portero appraise my items?

    Portero does not appraise items unless we decide to sell them. You may bring your jewelry, watches or vintage pieces to a dealer for an appraisal or replacement value. Portero cannot guarantee the sale of your item(s) at an appraised value. Portero will research your item(s) to determine current market re-sale value and suggest pricing accordingly.

  9. What happens if my item does not sell?

    Portero will attempt to sell your item(s) online. If it does not sell we will be happy to work with you in suggesting alternatives such as lowering the price or trying to sell it again at a later time. The current market demand for certain items may not be very high, and seasons may greatly affect the sale of items such as jewelry and accessories.

  10. Where can I send the details of my item(s) for a proper evaluation or an assessment re-sale value?

    You may send the details of your items for an evaluation by e-mail to: Sellluxury@portero.com

    Or you may contact the client services team directly at 877-307-3767 Option 1 between the hours of 9AM – 5PM Eastern Time.

    Please be sure to include your name and contact information. Once your information is submitted it may take up to 48 hours for a response.

  11. How long before a consultant calls me?

    In most cases you will receive a response within 24 hours. However, once your information is submitted it may take up to 48 hours for a response.

  12. Where do I call/e-mail to check on the status of my items?

    You may send an e-mail requesting the status of your item(s) to Sellluxury@portero.com

    Or you may contact the client services team directly at 877-307-3767 Option 1
    between the hours of 9AM – 5PM Eastern Time.

  13. Do you accept Trade-ins? I would like to trade in my watch?

    Currently, we do not accept trade-ins. We may implement this in the future, please check back with us.

  14. I am unsure the authenticity of my item(s). Will you authenticate my item(s)?

    Portero guarantees the authenticity of every item it sells. Our team will closely evaluate and research your item in order to ensure its authenticity prior to listing it on Portero.com.

  15. I have not heard back from a consultant yet, what can I do?
